Merry Christmas! New Suzy Spreadwell Painting! "Agape" (UPDATED)
So I made yet another of these cursed things and I ask, as great religions also have, for your indulgence. Whole painting after the cut.
In this one, Suzy explores her desire for blind devotion, and what that devotion may actually be to. Something for every American to consider these days, one might think. Also where we meet Reverend Swiver, who will show up in the story a bit later. Yes, I will start work again on the comic soon.
It's 10" x 13" on white heavyweight illustration board, in ink, aquarelle and gouache. You can buy it direct from me via Paypal, or you could get it on Ebay this week for less. (along with my other Suzy paintings)
Click on image to see larger version. And prints and posters of many sizes of this and other fine works of poison can be had for your guilty wall right here.
(Updated since original posting with better quality scan. The old one was a little dull. I think this one could be better too but it's the closest to the colors of the original I can get...)
Here was the india ink stage...
And here was the original sketch.
