Which is not, as much of the press is reporting, about unions causing the state's shortfall. What caused that were tax breaks the governor's been handing out to business which equal exactly the amount of the shortfall. Which the governor is now using as an excuse to destroy collective bargaining--except for police and firefighters, who contributed to his campaign.
This is the first salvo in the next step of the GOP's dismantling of this country: bust the unions. That's all it is. And look at them in Wisconsin. Guess what: fighting for your rights is not just for Egyptians. And what were they fighting over? Partly Mubarak's police state. But also the way he's been robbing the country and about how his nepotism has led to most not being able to get jobs. It was about jobs and worker rights too. Well, we can fight for that too here, can't we? I mean, what have you got to lose at this point, except what little you have that they still haven't taken?
If unions go, worker rights go. Even if you're not in a union this affects you. Unless you're rich. Are you rich?
