Joe Miller Handcuffs Reporter, and Other Teashirt Flameouts
Because I stupidly retain hope in cosmic justice, I expected these people, being total amateurs, to blow it in the final month, but not so spectacularly as we're seeing them crash and burn in succession. Carl Paladino is at 24%(that's about 20 points in one week lost) to Cuomo's 53 and climbing. Rand Paul is revealed in his debate to be a whiny, petty twerp. Christine O'Donnell whines too, about the GOP that she made threats against not giving her any help.
But Joe Miller, last heard from when he told reporters he will not answer any questions ever, has gone the extra mile into a rehearsal of police-state tactics, doing what Nixon only dreamed of: handcuffing a reporter. Which will only focus more attention on the dirty laundry Miller is trying to hide under his bed. My god, these candidates; such stupid amateurs that thought they could get through on self-esteem alone. Not long ago, Joe Miller said he was picking out drapes for his Washington office, apparently thinking he'd already won. He must be tense because Lisa Murkowski, still a write-in candidate, is even with him now in the polls. But not for long--tomorrow she'll be ahead. The seat will remain Republican, but at least not him.
I will give them this, they have the Republican propensity to count their chickens before they're hatched down pat.
Were the GOP involved in choosing these candidates at all, or did they simply outsource that to the Chamber of Commerce this year? Because I think these candidates were just picked because of some perceived appeal to a focus group or the like, rather than having been vetted even slightly.
In any case, it's just proof that stupid will eventually reach critical mass and explode itself. I wonder how Sharron Angle will top this. Update: We now have video!
