Democrats Suddenly Realize Christmas Came Early
It's been a good Friday. Not only did Rick Sanchez destroy himself faster than any media figure I've ever seen(and really, Sanchez, antisemitism? Not only stupid and vile but...cliched), but it appears the Democrats are finally going on offense
. As I've been saying, if the Democrats press the thing just a bit, the GOP candidates couldn't have made it easier to tear them apart with their own scary positions. Waiting this long only makes sense if, now, you say, "Okay, are you done? Now let me repeat your positions back to everyone.
And suddenly all the crazy shit they said to get attention and thought, because they weren't being challenged and never talked to anything but Teashirt audiences, people were swallowing, that they thought was their battle armor, becomes poison coating every inch of their reptilian skin. And, much as Meg Whitman will now spend every day till the election trying to extricate herself from the fact she's been caught lying, violating the law and her own campaign rhetoric, while Brown gains ground without breaking a sweat, they will then be stuck fresh in the mind looking like weasels. They will be so occupied backing off their positions that they will not be able to properly campaign, and at the very least the voters will abandon them for the safer-looking candidate. This is part of the danger of not softening your stance after you're out of primaries.
These are, for god's sake, people who will embrace privatizing Social Security in FLORIDA. (sucks to be you, Marco Rubio
) In fact, between that and Angle wanting to privatize the VA, one wonders if they realized much of their potential voter demo was senior citizens, who make up, for instance, Fox's main demo. Were they looking at all those grey and bald heads in the crowds at those rallies and town hall meetings?
And also always vote in great numbers. And are still alive. And are listening. And this is just one example of the toxic muck these candidates have been freely coughing all over themselves.
The Democrats couldn't have more useful material. Politicians of previous generations would've killed for this much public dirt to use. If the thing is pressed, the actually rather weak(now) GOP will not only break but they will have ruined their brand for a generation.
So, as Lincoln once said to Sherman, "Let the thing be pressed."
Labels: bastards, election 2010, get off my lawn, HA ha, right wing, teashirts, you're pathetic
