New York Times: the Road to Atonement?According to Kos, the
NYT tomorrow will be
publishing proof that the administration has been lying about the reasons for the war in Iraq.
Of course, there are two disadvantages to this. The first is that it does happen to have been the freaking obvious to most intelligent people, for some time, just from the known facts. The second is that it may hurt the credibility of any revelations to have them published in the
NYT, given that we all know they're liars, incompetents and government shills.
On the other hand, better late than never, and perhaps this is the reason Judith Miller has not been fired yet; part of the terms of her continued employment may have been to spill enough leads to the editors that the story could now be pursued, and the paper could now stand a chance at restoring its illusion of credibility.
